Laser pointer hampers hundreds of Schiphol flights; offender sought

The police are looking for the person responsible for hindering hundreds of Schiphol flights by shining a laser pointer on them. The police received about 70 tips on this case during the course of Wednesday after Opsporing Verzocht broadcast details about it on Tuesday evening. Hundreds of pilots have complained about the laser pointer since July this year. The laser obstructs their view, which could lead to difficulties during landing. The police believe that the perpetrator is from the Hoofddorp area, but have so far been unable to catch him in the act. Investigators would like to make contact with anyone with any information about this case.
