Lawyer: Facebook skipped revenge porn case deadline

Facebook has missed the deadline imposed by the court to provide the profile information of the person who put a sex video of a 21 year old woman from Werkendam online. The 21 year old woman won the lawsuit she had filed against the social media giant in late June. She wants to know who created a fake account under her name and then uploaded a sex video of her and her ex-boyfriend in January. During the case Facebook's lawyers stated that the information has been deleted off their systems. The judge ruled that Facebook has to hand over the information, and if it is not available, should give a external expert access to their systems to determine whether the information is really gone. The 14 day deadline for Facebook to provide the information expired on Friday. ""Facebook has not complied with the judge's order to provide the information of the fake account within 14 days", the woman's lawyer Thomas van Vugt said to RTL Nieuws. According to him, the social media giant still insists that the information is not available. The lawyer will make contact with an IT company to investigate this week. "We know who we will approach and will consult with Facebook on it. It is a renowned party. Which should determine whether Facebook is telling the truth." Should Facebook not allow access to their systems, Van Vugt will head back to court and demand that Facebook be given a fine for every day that it denies access.
