Nearly €4 million seized in money laundering busts

The Criminal Investigation team seized nearly 4 million euros in a large investigation into money laundering last week. Several suspects were arrested in Aruba and the Netherlands. More than 1.1 million euros was found and seized in several searches of houses and businesses in Aruba, the Netherlands and Belgium on Tuesday. On Wednesday the police found and confiscated 2.8 million euros hidden in packets of chicken meat in a refrigerated container. Three suspects, identified by the police as R.H., R.G. and H. van R. were arrested in Aruba on Tuesday. This investigation was started at the request of the Public Prosecutor Aruba. The Netherlands Public Prosecutors' National Office launched the investigation on April 13th this year, while a parallel investigation into money laundering happened on Aruba.
