Seaweed spaghetti firm Seamore hits crowdfunding target

Seamore, the firm aiming to replace spaghetti with seaweed, has reached its 15 thousand euro target on crowdfunding site Oneplanetcrowd. Almost 400 people think that replacing carb-filled pasta with the healthier alternative of seaweed is a great idea, and have pledged money to the crowdfunding campaign. With the first goal of 15 thousand euros reached, Willem Sodderland, founder of Seamore, can now start harvesting seaweed on the west coast of Ireland, Metro reports. His second goal is 25 thousand euros, with which he aims to supply major supermarkets and wholesalers who have shown interest in his seaweed business. According to Sodderland, the current hype around healthy eating is definitely helping his business. "The test panel found it very delicious, now it seems that a lot more people are warming up to something that kills two birds with one stone: I sea pasta replaces something we eat too much of: pasta, fast carbs, for something we eat too little of: vegetables." he said to Metro. The I Sea Seaweed Pasta crowdfunding campaign can be seen here.
