Ten Dutch rebel fighters dead in 2015, 200 left for Syria

At least ten Dutch rebel fighters in the Syrian Civil War have been killed during the first months of 2015, according to NOS. The Dutch secret service, AIVD, chief Rob Bertholee said that until this day 30 Dutch fighters had been slain in the war, when the number was only 20 late last year. In total, 199 Dutch people have traveled to the Islamic State area and among them were at least 40 women and 30 children under the age of 10, according to the AIVD's annual report on security. So far, 35 of the rebel fighters have returned to the Netherlands and AIVD is observing every one of them. The department says that even the jihadists not seeking to join ISIS are a growing threat to the national security.
