No new airlines interested in Lelystad Airport expansion

No new airlines have shown an interest in the Lelystad airport, Jos Nijhuis, CEO of parent company Schiphol told De Telegraaf yesterday. The procurement of the airport began in January. The cabinet will announce its airport decision on the controversial airport tomorrow. According to Het Parool, politics fear that it will be a ghost airport as the airport is expected to suffer a loss in the first 10 years. "We are busy with the preparations, so in that sense the government's decision is a formality", Nijhuis said. "No new airlines have reported to us. I expect that this will only be the case in a few years, if the airport becomes operational."
