Lufthansa strikes to restart Friday

The pilots of Lufthansa will go back on strike on Friday, reports the airline's website. All Friday flights from Amsterdam to Frankfurt and at least one flight to Munich are cancelled. Lufthansa says that short- and medium-range flights operated by the company will be affected. Long-distance flights, as well as flights operated by sister airlines and subsidiaries are not expected to be hindered. The strikes that began anew on Wednesday are organized by Cockpit, the association of German pilots and flight engineers. The main issue of the current strike is a disagreement over support measures for pilots laid off by the company, reports Der Spiegel.
