Four young teens lead police on 35-km highway chase

The police arrested four teenagers in Roelofarendsveen on Saturday night after a high speed car chase on the A4. At around 21:00 on Saturday police officers signaled a car with 4 occupants to stop on Burgemeestersrand. Instead of stopping, the driver sped away from the provincial road to the A4. The police gave chase. On the highway the car drove over several lanes at speeds above 180 kilometers per hour towards Amsterdam. The suspect then took the Roelofarendsveen exit, also at high speed. The police finally managed to bring the car to a stop in the industrial park on Floraweg. The four suspects, two 17 year old boys from The Hague and two boys aged 15 and 16 years from Delft, were arrested by police officers and a police dog around 21:15 pm. Two of the suspects resisted arrest. Two of the suspects were immediately taken to the police station for questioning. The other two, who resisted arrest, obtained several dog bites during the arrest and were only taken to the police station after receiving treatment. All four suspects are still in custody.
