90-year-old woman fights off knife-wielding burglar

A 90-year-old woman managed to fight off a burglar in the Utrecht town of Loenen aan de Vecht last night. The doorbell at the woman's house on Prinses Beatrixweg rang at about 18:45 last night. When she opened the door, she was threatened by an unknown man with a knife. He demanded that she give him her money. There was a struggle between the two. The elderly woman came away uninjured and managed to run away through the back door. The assailant fled without stealing anything. The woman was the victim of another robbery about two weeks ago. The police are investigating this case.
