Netherlands national MH17 Memorial today

Today more than 1,600 relatives of the victims of the disaster with flight MH17 will gather for a memorial in Amsterdam. In the RAI they will remember the 298 passengers who died when the plane of Malaysia Airlines was shot down over the Ukraine on July 17th. The memorial will also be attended by, among others, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, Princess Beatrix, Cabinet- and Parliament Members, former Minister Frans Timmermans and other involved people. The full schedule of the memorial can be seen here. The memorial was arranged in consultation with the relatives of the victims. The theme is a sense of security and connection. Flags across the country on government buildings will hang at half-mast today.
