Wiesenthal Ctr "shocked" by pro-ISIS, anti-Jewish Hague rally

Dr. Shimon Samuels of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Paris has expressed his shock that the Mayor of The Hague, Jozias van Aartsen, has allowed two anti-Jewish demonstrations to take place undeterred on his watch. The Director for International Relations at the Jewish human rights organization has written a letter to Van Aartsen, warning him of the implications of his inaction in these matters. "The Dutch people today, sadly, face two forms of terrorism", the letter reads. "The first from those who brought down the Malaysian aircraft over Ukraine. The second from the potential danger at home from ISIS. Mr. Mayor, you can stop the second, if you wish. If you do not, you will share responsibility for the consequence." Samuels laments the events that saw pro-ISIS supporters chant anti-Semitic slogans, inciting genocide upon the Jews, at demonstrations on the 4th and 24th of July this year. Samuels asks Van Aartsen whether he will put all his efforts in preventing the third time and those that follow, "before enthusiastic young demonstrators turn words into actions, threats into violence?" The letter has been forwarded to the Interior Minister and to the members of the Dutch Parliamentary Committee for the Interior, the Simon Wiesenthal Center states on their website. Parliament has asked questions about the incidents, and the Public Prosecution Authority is investigating. According to Samuels, the expressions that were outed and left un-reprimanded at these demonstrations go against the Anti-Terrorism Law of The Netherlands, and also conflicts with the Mayoral code established at The World Mayor Association in Hanover, which stipulates that they must protect all their citizens. Samuels asks: "Mr. Van Aartsen, how do you feel about endangering your Jewish citizens?" Samuels, who sent the letter last week Friday, finds it ridiculous that these incidents have been allowed to happen in the 'City of Peace and Justice'. In The Hague, thousands have signed a petition calling for the resignation of Mayor Jozias van Aartsen.
