Hay fever cases soar: report

The Netherlands is overwhelmed by an "unprecedented" flood of hay fever cases, and allergists are working overtime, De Persdienst (The Press Service) reports. According to regional papers from The Press Service, the number of patients with hay fever complaints is not only unprecedented, but the nature of the complaints are also extreme. Internal allergist Ad Jansen of the Radboud Medical Center in Nijmegen says that "the scope and severity of this hay fever wave is unprecedented. In our country there is already a shortage of internal allergists, but now this is felt very hard." The cause of the flood of hay fever reports is the mild winter. The pollen season has already been going on for six months.
