Speeding potheads get stuck under truck

Two young men who were driving under the influence of marijuana narrowly escaped serious injuries when they slammed their car so hard into the back of a truck that it dragged them along for a while. Police say the incident happened on the A16 near Prinsenbeek around 2.40am this morning. The truck driver reported on the scene that he was driving on the highway when he noticed that a car was approaching from behind, at excessively high speed. He said he could only watch as the approaching car did not swerve around to overtake, but slammed head on into his truck's rear end and got stuck. The truck dragged the vehicle along as the truck driver pulled to the side of the road where he called the police. The driver car and his passenger, to men in their twenties from Tervuren, could only be freed from the wrinkled car with the help of police. It turned out that they were going so fast because for some reason the accelerator of the car got stuck at 200 km/h. Police also realized that they were under the influence of marijuana; officers had spotted the passenger trying to drop a small plastic bag with the drugs into the drainage. The passenger needed treatment at the hospital. The car was confiscated.
