Music from everywhere at Festival Mundial

From Denmark to Mali, from ska to balkan beats, there's a little for everyone at the upcoming Festival Mundial in Tilburg on 27, 28, and 29 June. In the last years, the festival furrowed brows over commercial headliners such as Caro Emerald and Pitbull, but this year's edition promises a more eclectic adventure into obscure world music. The line-up of this year's festival, published on Tuesday, has little to do with mainstream music, but is more inclined to an exotic musical mix. The organization typifies itself as "music that doesn't really belong anywhere but exists everywhere." Of course there are some bands that will sound familiar such as Dutch grime/dub-step musician Gomes and British fusionists of dub, reggae, dancehall and rapcore Asian Dub Foundation. Those with a desire for an even more varied palette can check out Japanese hardcore with traditional instruments á la Jambinai: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6ABpjyc1Gs&feature=player_embedded Or ragga/tropical bass/hip-hop group Skip & Die from South Africa:
If watching Finnish men harken back to the days of the Ringling Brothers, Alamaailman Vasarat is your stop:
Funky Rock 'N Roll group Vintage Trouble, who have appeared on several US talk shows will be in attendance as well:
All in all, the festival should be a great weekend.
