Missing prisoner was making weapons

The prisoner who was reported missing early Monday morning in the Vught penitentiary, fabricated weapons during his attempted escape. He was arrested several hours later with the help of assault teams and sniffer dogs. In 2006 the man was sentenced to 15 year in prison and compulsory treatment for the murder and rape of Melanie Sijbers from Geldrop. The search parties tracked him down in a shed on the premises where he was making weapons out of garden tools. Prior to the sentence he's currently serving, he already had a substantial criminal record. He had already been sentenced to compulsory treatment for a series of rapes.
