ING: No double-payments made

After a torrent of complaints Wednesday morning from customers who thought they had made double payments due to ING's mobile banking system being down again, ING announced all payments were only processed once. The service for internet and mobile banking was down for hours.

When customers tried to make payments, error messages instructed them to try again later. Meanwhile the payment had already gone through. Earlier "de Telegraaf" reported the customers were responsible for retrieving the money themselves. 'This is not the case. All reductions were corrected. All deposits and withdrawals after 10:30 are accurate,' said an ING spokesperson. It is yet unknown what caused the service interruption this time. The bank has been plagued by technical difficulties in the past few months. Earlier this month internet and mobile services were down also, and the reason wasn't clear then either.
