DONG Energy buys Dutch offshore wind plants

DONG Energy has acquired from its joint venture partner SSE the remaining 50% stake in three offshore wind development projects in the Netherlands. Offshore wind plant / Wikipedia The wind projects –Den Helder 1, Breeveertien II and West-Rijn–are located in the North Sea off the coast of the Netherlands, DONG Energy said in a statement. In total, the wind projects will produce up to 1,050 megawatt (MW). “The Dutch offshore wind market has great potential and with these three development projects, DONG Energy is looking forward to contributing to the achievement of the announced Dutch target of 4,450 megawatt of offshore wind installed and operational by 2023, stated Samuel Leupold, executive vice president in DONG Energy Wind Power.
