Yield Philippines more than 18 million
The national campaign for the Philippines has so far raised 18.5 million, according to the final score at the end of the television broadcast.
Throughout the day, the Cooperating Aid Organizations, Public Broadcasting, RTL, and SBS, raised money for the victims of the hurricane. Giro 555 was opened up for that purpose. The final piece of the campaign was a television broadcast on public and commercial channels.

Twitter People came to the building of Sound and Vision in Hilversum, where they donated in cash or by check for the Philippines. When the TV campaign started in the morning, the counter marked nearly 8 million. During the day that amount was more than doubled . Minister Ploumen announced the government will make another 4 million available for assistance in the Philippines. Shortly after the disaster, the government reserved 2 million euros. Campaign president of the Cooperating Aid Organizations, Henri van Eeghen, is satisfied with the yield. He expressed his gratitude and was overwhelmed by how many people in the Netherlands gave generously to the people in the Philippines. According to Van Eeghen the panel that processed the donations was called more than 54,000 times. More than 2.1 million people twittered about the campaign. It was a creative, inspiring, and exciting day, according to Van Eeghen. The total amount may further increase, because giro 555 remains open and some fundraisings are still in process. The yields on giro 555 varied in recent years. Most of the money was raised in the campaign for the tsunami in Asia in 2004: 208.3 million euros.
