Dutch Woman Dies At Kenya Thriller

A 33-year-old woman has died in the attack of Al-Shabaab terrorists on the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya. The Dutch woman was living with her Australian husband in Tanzania and visited Nairobi for the weekend. The woman and her husband got both killed during the shooting on Saturday. Seven other Dutch citizens were also in the shopping mall during the attack on Saturday. They could escape and were not shot or taken hostage. Ten to fifteen armed muslim terrorists of the Al-Shabaab movement opened fire around noon time on Saturday in the mall. The death toll has risen to 68, reported the Red Cross. On Sunday evening the muslim terrorists still held about ten people in hostage. Rob van Dijk, who works at the Dutch embassy, said he was eating at a restaurant in the shopping centre when attackers lobbed grenades inside the building. He said gunfire then burst out and people screamed as they dropped to the ground. The Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi - wikipedia The Westgate mall is a luxury shopping mall with a bout 80 shops, a cinema and restaurants. The visitors are mostly rich Kenyans and foreigners. A couple of the shop owners are Israeli's which might be a reason why this shopping mall was chosen for the attack. Minister Frans Timmermans gives his condolences to the family of the murdered Dutch woman. He says that the Dutch embassy is having constant communication about the situation with the Kenyan government.
