Sneijder first skipped the international friendly with Portugal, shortly after losing the Oranje's captaincy earlier this summer. Rekik, presently on loan at PSV, has been called up. Fulham goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg and Everton defender John Heitinga are also out. Tim Krul, Kevin Strootman, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Daryl Janmaat will not take part in the next matches because of health concerns. Netherlands is now on top of Group D with 18 points from six games.
