Van Persie: “I have to Stay True to Myself.”
Manchester United striker Robin van Persie remains firm on his beliefs and shares his positive thoughts on the Netherlands' chances at the World Cup.
Van Persie says his latest role as Netherlands captain will not change him as a sportsman or as an individual. He claimed the captaincy place in the Oranje from Wesley Sneijder this summer.
Following his captaincy, Robin Van Persie says he will not change.

"Having said that, though, I have to stay true to myself as well. I will not start to behave differently all of a sudden because I'm skipper now." The 30-year-old also talked about Holland's chances of winning at the 2014 World Cup. "Van Gaal is not the type of person to settle for second spot and neither are the players. You have to be realistic, though. We're talking about the best players in the world here. But we are aiming for the highest possible. "There are a lot of good teams, but I believe that we can go far if everything goes our way. Nobody ever won anything without a bit of luck." The star player was the top scorer in the previous season of the Premier League. On Wednesday, Netherlands played Portugal in a friendly game at Estadio Algarve and finished to a 1-1 draw.
