Longer Sentence for Child Molester Robert M.
The court in Amsterdam sentenced child molester Robert M. to 19 years in prison with compulsory treatment. This is a year longer than his original sentence of 18 years.
M. abused 67 children in day-care centers in Amsterdam in December 2010, recorded his actions and spread the images. Detailed confessions served as evidence in the extensive case.
M.’s defense lawyers asked for a lower penalty because of their client’s cooperation and because of the media attention the case received. However, the Court of Appeals did not accept these arguments because the case involved so many children who were abused so many times.
Unlike last year when he threw a cup of water at the judge, M. listened quietly as his sentence was read.
