Bankruptcies Increase
The Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics, Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS), reported that the first three months of this year registered the highest number of bankruptcies in a quarter since measurements started 30 years ago.According to NRC.nl, judges declared bankrupt 709 businesses and institutions in March. This number is 50 less than the month before, but the three-month-average of 734 over January, February and March is the highest average number ever. According to the CBS, this number gives a better picture of the developments because the number of bankruptcies is related to the number of court days, which is different every month.
