Mosque-crime Category

Crimes like arson and destruction on mosques are not reported often enough to the police because it is feared that the reports would not be taken seriously. The link between Muslims and the government, Contactorgaan Moslims en Overheid (CMO), has asked lawmakers to create a separate category for such complaints, similar to what was done for anti-Semitism. Nu.nl reported that a fire in a mosque in Enkhuizen last weekend was the reason for this request.
