Video: Explosion sparks fire at Eindhoven home; Three men arrested
An explosion in the Magnoliastraat in Eindhoven during the night from Saturday to Sunday set off a fire at the front door of a house. The blast damaged the property and led to the evacuation of a neighboring home, where a family with a young baby was briefly forced into the street, Omroep Brabant reports.
Witnesses reported seeing a car leaving shortly after the explosion. Police later arrested three suspects: two men, aged 19 and 24, from The Hague, and a 20-year-old man from Rotterdam. All three are in custody as the investigation continues.
Around 2 a.m., police explosives experts examined the scene as part of the investigation. Police said they were treating the situation as suspicious.
Officers reported a strong gasoline-like smell in the street and said that someone likely used accelerants such as turpentine or gasoline.
