Elderly woman breaks collarbone after teen boys push her in Amsterdam

Two teenage boys allegedly pushed a 73-year-old woman to the ground in Amsterdam’s busy Kalverstraat on January 17, 2025, causing her to break her collarbone, police said. The incident, initially thought to be an accidental fall, appears to have been deliberate, RTL reports.

According to police, surveillance footage shows one boy pushing the other into the woman as she walks by. While she lay on the ground, the victim was kicked and verbally abused.

The boys then ran away. Video later captured them laughing and giving each other a fist bump nearby.

Authorities said the incident is not isolated. In the same period, police received multiple reports of youths pushing unsuspecting pedestrians. Investigators are considering whether the same pair was involved in other attacks.

The woman underwent surgery for her broken collarbone and continues to experience complications a year after the attack. Police are searching for both boys involved. The teen who delivered the push is suspected of assault causing serious bodily injury.
