Suspect arrested after possible IJburg shop robbery
Police arrested a suspect Saturday night after a shop on Pampuslaan in IJburg was possibly robbed or stolen from, with authorities still investigating the individual’s exact role and what occurred inside the store, AT5 reports.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery at about 8:10 p.m. A suspect dressed in black entered the shop and fled with an unknown amount of loot, police said. The suspect escaped by jumping onto the back of an electric bicycle ridden by another person.
A police helicopter circled over IJburg for a period during the search. Shortly afterward, officers arrested a suspect who may be a minor.
Authorities have not confirmed whether this person was the individual who entered the shop or what role, if any, others may have played.
