Young child badly hurt in accident at Rotterdam trampoline park

A young child got badly hurt in an accident at a trampoline park in Rotterdam on Sunday. Exactly what happened is unclear.

The accident happened at 39 JumpStreet on Nikkelstraat on Sunday afternoon. The indoor play park allows kids aged 6 and older.

The emergency services dispatched an ambulance and a trauma team by helicopter to the scene. A police spokesperson told RTL Nieuws that the child was rushed to a hospital by ambulance.

The spokesperson could not say anything about the nature of their injuries, but did say the child was conscious and able to communicate with first responders.

This is not the first time that a child has gotten badly hurt at a play park for children. In November 2023, an 11-year-old boy died at a rock climbing gym in Amsterdam during a kids’ party. The directors of the facility were sentenced to community service this year. According to the court, the management is responsible for the boy’s death because they did not have the safety policy in order.
