Three shootings rock Hoorn in one night; Police arrest three, two injured

Police are investigating three connected shootings that took place Saturday evening in Hoorn, leaving two people injured and resulting in three arrests.

Emergency services were first alerted around 6:30 p.m. to a shooting on Grutto, where one person was injured and taken to a hospital. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, according to police.

Less than an hour later, another shooting occurred on Juliana van Stolberglaan, only a few kilometers away. Officers arriving at the scene saw a man running but managed to catch him. The man was also injured and taken to a hospital, where he was placed under arrest.

A third shooting, which had not been previously reported, took place at a home on Winterkoninkje. Investigators later found a bullet hole in a window. Police believe the shooting at Winterkoninkje occurred between the two earlier incidents.

“Shots were fired at the house,” a police spokesperson said Sunday morning. “What this has to do with the other incidents is something the investigation team will have to figure out. It’s an interesting puzzle for us to piece together.”
