Explosion at Venlo city hall during vote count; Police seek witnesses

An explosion occurred at the Venlo city hall during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, while volunteers were counting votes for the parliamentary election in the building. The blast smashed a window. The police are seeking witnesses.

The explosion happened on the side of the building on Professor Gelissensingel between 00:30 and 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. No one was injured.

The police are looking for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage from doorbell or dashboard cameras, among other things.

As far as is known, the explosion did not interfere with the vote counting.
