Video: Police release footage of explosive attack on Christians for Israel foundation
The police have released footage of an explosive attack on a building belonging to the Christians for Israel Foundation in Nijkerk earlier this month. The police hope the public can help identify the suspected perpetrator, who is still at large.
The police shared a video on the regional investigation program Plaats Delict showing the perpetrator arriving at the entrance of the building on a fatbike, igniting an explosive, and cycling away. An explosion follows seconds later.
The perpetrator arrived at the building on Henri Nouwenstraat at around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3. He was dressed in black and had a hood pulled up over his head.
The damage to the building was limited, and no one got hurt.
The police asked any witnesses who haven’t spoken to investigators yet to come forward. Investigators would also like to talk with anyone with relevant information or camera footage.
The attack on the Christians for Israel Foundation follows several other explosive attacks on locations linked to Israel and the United States after the start of the Iran war. Explosives were ignited at a synagogue in Rotterdam, and a Jewish school and a business building in Amsterdam.
The police said in the investigation program that they have not yet found a connection between the Nijkerk attack and those in the Randstad area.
