Heavy showers and strong winds to batter central and northern Netherlands

Central and northern Netherlands face a stormy rest of the weekend and early week with heavy showers, hail, and strong winds, while southern areas remain predominantly dry, weeronline reported.

On Sunday, temperatures are expected to reach 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. Winds from the west to northwest will blow moderately inland and strong along the coast, gusting up to 100 km/h in some areas. The Wadden Sea and IJsselmeer could see storm-force gusts of 90 km/h.

Sunday afternoon will bring continued showers in the north and center, with dry conditions in the south. Overnight, heavy showers with hail and thunder will persist, with coastal gusts up to 80 km/h. Temperatures will drop to 6 to 9 degrees.

On Monday, strong showers with possible hail and thunder continue, with winds moderate inland (force 4–5) and strong to hard at sea (force 6–8). Afternoon showers will gradually ease, bringing more sun, with temperatures again at 10 to 12 degrees.

Tuesday will be cloudy and rainy in the morning, with scattered showers later. Winds remain strong, coastal gusts up to 90 km/h. Temperatures rise slightly to 12 to 14 degrees.

Wednesday brings showers mainly in northern and central Netherlands, while the south stays dry. Temperatures reach 13 degrees in the north and 15 in the south.

Temperatures will continue rising through the week, with highs of 14 to 16 degrees by the end of October and possibly 18 degrees in the south early next week. Conditions will alternate between sun and occasional showers, with mild southern winds dominating.
