Delivery van slides off A58 in Bergen op Zoom, driver hospitalized

A delivery van went off the road and into nearby bushes on the A58 near the Zoomland junction Saturday evening, authorities reported.

According to Omroep Brabant, the accident occurred just before 6 p.m. The elderly driver managed to exit the vehicle on his own but was taken to the hospital by ambulance for evaluation. No other vehicles were involved, and the cause of the crash remains unknown.

Rijkswaterstaat blocked the left lane to allow emergency personnel to work safely. Firefighters had to cut parts of the bushes to help a tow truck remove the van.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage during the slide, but the lane closure did not cause significant traffic delays.
