Zuid-Holland provincial government building in The Hague evacuated over fire on roof
The Zuid-Holland provincial government building in The Hague was evacuated on Wednesday afternoon after a fire broke out on the building’s roof. Emergency services are at the scene.
The emergency services received the first report that the building on Zuid Hollandplein at 1:05 p.m. Firefighters responded from The Hague, Wassenaar, Rijswijk, and Westland, a spokesperson for the fire department told Den Haag FM.
The fire broke out on the roof, and there are concerns that it spread inside, the fire brigade spokesperson said. Firefighters are working to determine whether this is the case.
Emergency workers evacuated the building and closed down part of Zuid-Hollandlaan and part of Utrechtsebaan to give the fire department space to work. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
