Dutch man arrested in Ibiza, still has to serve prison time for child sex abuse
A Dutch national has been arrested in Ibiza for whom a European Arrest Warrant had been issued for sexual abuse of an underage girl. According to Spanish media outlets, he still had to serve a portion of his sentence for abuses that took place between 2005 and 2009.
The man is suspected of sexual abuse of the girl and possession and recording child sex abuse videos, according to AD. He was arrested by a Special Unit Against Drug Crime and Organized Crime (UDYCO) of the Spanish National Police.
The Dutch man had fled to Ibiza. He was arrested on Tuesday in Santa Eulària des Riu while commuting to work. According to police, the man led a regular life in Ibiza, working for a local company.
He was taken to the police station. The Dutch court will now start extradition proceedings. It is not yet clear when the man will be extradited to the Netherlands.
