Police suspect 21-year-old shooting victim in The Hague was not a random target

The Hague police are continuing their investigation into the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Titas on Friday evening, revealing that he was likely not a random target, according to AD. Authorities have issued a description of the suspect and are actively searching for the shooter.

According to police, the incident occurred on the Paets van Troostwijkstraat. In the aftermath, officers conducted an extensive search in the surrounding area, utilizing a police helicopter. Despite their efforts, no suspect has been arrested at this time. "All efforts have not yet led to the arrest of a suspect," said a police spokesperson.

The police have shared a description of the shooter, believed to be a man of dark complexion with long, dark hair. The suspect was reportedly wearing a gray jacket or hoodie, black pants, and black shoes.

After the shooting, the suspect reportedly got into the passenger side of a black Citroën C1, which fled the scene in the direction of De Genestetlaan. Notably, the car was missing a rear license plate, which may help with tracking its movements.

Authorities have indicated that Titas was likely not the intended target, but instead was personally known to the shooter. The police are calling on witnesses or anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle's escape route to come forward.
