Man seriously injured after falling from window in Sint-Oedenrode; one arrested
A 26-year-old man was found critically injured Saturday evening after falling from a first-floor window on Heuvel in Sint-Oedenrode. Authorities arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the incident and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall.
Emergency services responded around 7:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a severely injured man lying unconscious on the pavement. The victim, a resident of Sint-Oedenrode, was surrounded by blood and appeared to have fallen from a window above a shoarma restaurant. He was treated on-site before being transported to a hospital. His current condition remains undisclosed.
Police initially refrained from confirming whether the victim had fallen or been pushed. Officers noted that a first-floor window was shattered, and broken glass was scattered on the ground near the injured man. A police spokesperson stated that multiple scenarios were being investigated.
Following an initial inquiry, a 31-year-old man with no fixed address was arrested Saturday night. Investigators suspect that the victim and the suspect knew each other. Authorities are examining the suspect’s role in the incident and have not yet determined whether foul play was involved.
The fall occurred during ongoing Carnival celebrations in Sint-Oedenrode, and multiple witnesses were present in the area. Police have urged anyone with information or camera footage to come forward to assist in the investigation.
