Temps up to 18°C today ring in spring-like weekend; Back to late winter next week
The Netherlands is in for a spring-like weekend, starting with maximums of around 15 to 18 degrees on Friday. Saturday and Sunday will also see thermometers climb into the double-digits before the temperatures gradually dip back to the long-term average next week. Saturday will be a fairly wet day, but Sunday will be largely dry, Weeronline reported.
Friday will see the highest temperatures of 2025 so far, the weather service said. The day started cloudy, with a chance of a drizzle here and there. But the sun will increasingly show its face from the south as the morning progresses.
The afternoon will see temperatures climb to 15 degrees in the north and west and up to 18 degrees in some places in Limburg and Noord-Brabant. The Wadden Islands will have a much less pleasant day, with maximums around 10 degrees. There will be a mix of sunshine and cirrus clouds, with a moderate southerly wing that may be strong along the coast.
Overnight, temperatures won’t drop below 8 degrees. The chance of rain will increase from the west during the early morning hours.
Saturday will see many clouds and regular rain. The day will be the wettest in the north, and the east and southeast have the best chance of spotting the sun, especially in the morning. Maximum temperatures will range between 11 and 14 degrees, with the highest temperatures occurring in the southeast.
Weeronline expects Sunday to be dry for most of the day, with a mix of clouds and sun. The cloud cover will increase from the west during the afternoon, bringing with it a higher chance of rain. Maximums will be 12 to 14 degrees with a moderate to fairly strong southerly wind.
After the weekend, the weather will turn more changeable and temperatures will dip back to the long-term average for the time of year. Monday will still see afternoon temperatures in the double figures in most places, but by Wednesday the temperatures will be back to typical - maximums of 7 to 8 degrees in late February. The nights will also be colder with minimums between 0 and 4 degrees.
