Rotterdam police dismiss cop for accusations that she planned to assassinate her ex

Rotterdam police have fired a female employee from Gorinchem on suspicion of plotting to murder her 57-year-old ex-partner. The plan ultimately fell through. The policewoman was arrested last year. There have already been several preliminary hearings in this case.

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) feels that the motive is a “custody battle.” It was reported in De Telegraaf in August that the reason for the plans was because the man had abused her underage son on several occasions. The suspect, Jerney van E., allegedly also involved other people in her plans, including her son.

The intention was for a 19-year-old acquaintance of the woman to fatally shoot the husband. Van E. denies the accusations and claims that she is being framed by other suspects.

The substantive hearing of the criminal case is scheduled for mid-September this year. Van E. is allowed to await the case in freedom under strict conditions, including a ban from the area.
