Series of explosions in Den Bosch could be tied to conflict between roofing firms
The police and the Public Prosecution Service believe that the recent string of explosions in Den Bosch may be related to a criminal conflict. Many roofers or people who are connected to a roofing company were the targets of the attacks.
Police are currently still investigating the explosions separately. They are looking into whether there are links. Police found various people with a criminal past or have contacts in the criminal world during the investigation. These people own a roofing company or are connected to such a company. It is still being investigated whether they were involved in the explosions.
A number of the suspects did not want to give any information about the possible background of the crimes and also did not want to file a police report. This only strengthens the police’s belief that this is a conflict between criminals.
Furthermore, the police and the Public Prosecution Service emphasized that they are also investigating other causes, such as business conflicts or quarrels. In addition, it is not ruled out that attacks are related to a competition between roofers.
The latest explosion was on Monday night on the Jan Pieterszoon Coenstraat. The explosion was near a car, which did not catch fire, but there was a lot of broken glass on the ground.
The owner of the vehicle told the Brabants Dagblad that he has no enemies, but his stepfather has a roofing company. He is from Tilburg, but his car was parked at his mother and stepfather’s home on Monday in Den Bosch. He claimed that a cobra firework was on the passenger seat.
