Over 40 people fined for filming toppled truck on Dutch highway

Over 40 drivers were fined for filming or taking photos of a truck that was toppled on the A28 motorway, according to the Utrecht police. On Wednesday morning, a truck containing cleaning products toppled in Leusden on the motorway, heading north.

The police said the people ignored warnings to film the incident in the other driving lane. "This is punishable and limits the safety of other road users."

National Road Association ANWB reported earlier that the road would be closed until 7 p.m. The truck had to be moved, and the crash barrier was severely damaged.

Traffic is being diverted from the Rijnsweerd junction via the A27 and A1.
