Roparun donates €1.5 million to hospital for children with cancer

According to the organization, it is one of the largest donations Roparun has made in its 33-year existence. "The activities in the Princess Máxima Center are aimed at, among other things, reducing pain, fear, and stress in young children with cancer, peer contact, quality in the final phase of life, and the construction of spaces where a child and his or her parents can stay together. The donation also makes special attention and guidance possible for parents whose child has died of cancer," Roparun reports.

Every year, around 600 children are diagnosed with cancer, a quarter of whom die as a result.

The Roparun is an annual sponsored relay race from France and Enschede to Rotterdam, in which thousands of participants take part during Pentecost. Since 1991, almost 100 million euros have been raised. The Roparun Foundation distributes the proceeds among the various charities, institutions and projects that we support. Last year, the organization raised 4.4 million euros, according to the foundation.
