Thermometers to hit 30 degrees on Friday, Saturday; Showers back on Sunday
Tropical weather is heading to the Netherlands and will arrive just in time for the kids in the Noord region to start their summer vacation. Thermometers will hit 30 degrees in several places in the Netherlands on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, showers will bring cooler weather back to the country, Weeronline reports.
The Noord region is the last to go on summer vacation this year. Kids in the Centrum and Zuid regions are already on holiday but haven’t had the best weather. That will change, Weeronline said. “The next few days will be dry and downright sunny, with temperatures rising sharply.”
Today will see maximums climbing to between 19 and 24 degrees, with ample room for sunshine. “The temperature will continue its upward trend in the following days.” Friday could hit a tropical 30 degrees in the southeast. On Saturday, thermometers will climb to summer values everywhere, with maximums between 26 and 31 degrees expected.
“However, these high temperatures are short-lived,” Weeronline said. Thunderstorms will pass over the country from the southwest on Saturday night and early Sunday morning, dissipating the heat. Sunday’s maximums will be between 20 and 25 degrees, with more showers expected.
Next week’s forecast is still a bit uncertain, but Weeronline expects “fairly normal Dutch weather.” A west- to southwesterly wind will likely keep the warm air currently in the south of Europe out of the Netherlands.
Afternoon temperatures will likely be between 19 and 24 degrees. “Quite common values for this time of year,” Weeronline said. Rain-wise, the occasional shower is a possibility, but dryer weather seems to have the upper hand at the moment.
