Netherlands sets new weather record with six stormy days in a row
Storms Dudley, Eunice, and Franklin set a new weather record in the Netherlands. This was the first time ever that six consecutive stormy days have been recorded in the country, Weerplaza reported.
The previous record was five consecutive storm days, held by December 1979, January 1984, January 1993, and February 2014.
When a storm passes around midnight, one storm can yield two stormy days. And that's what happened last week. Dudley crossed the Netherlands on Wednesday and Thursday. Eunice hit Friday and stormed on through Saturday. And Franklin caused strong winds in the Netherlands on Sunday and today.
The rest of the week will also be windy, with gusts up to 100 kilometers per hour possible along the coast. But compared to the storms of the past six days, the weather will be relatively calm, Weerplaza said.
