Teens killed in car crash, Adult man injured

Two teenagers were killed in a two-car accident Monday night that left a third person seriously injured. The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. on the Mondenweg in Valthermond, Drenthe.

The 18-year-old driver of one vehicle was killed along with his 17-year-old passenger. The young men were from Tweede Exloërmond and Musselkanaal, in Drenthe.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 36-year-old from Ter Apel, was taken to the hospital.

"The 36-year-old drove from the direction of Valthermond over the N379 in the direction of Nieuw-Weerdinge. The two young men came from the Stadskanaal direction over Valtherdik and drove onto the N379, probably overlooking the 36 year old", the police said.
