Shots fired at Amsterdam home; 5th violent incident in 3 days

A home on Mecatorplein in Amsterdam was shot at during the early hours of Monday morning. The shooting was the fifth violent incident in the Dutch capital since Saturday.

The shooting happened at around 2:50 a.m. on Monday morning, according to Het Parool. One of the bullets went through the wall of the targeted home. Nobody was injured.

The shooting on Mecatorplein was the fifth violent incident in Amsterdam over the weekend. At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, the police arrested three men in a building on Pedro de Medinalaan after a "violent incident", the police said in a statement. Two of the detainees were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment. The police are investigating what happened.

On Saturday evening, a man was injured in a shooting on Dickenslaan in Amsterdam Zuidoost. On Sunday evening, at 7:05 p.m., shots were fired on Willem Kromhoutstraat. Responding officers found multiple bullet casings at the crossing with Cort van der Lindenkade. As far as is known, no one was injured. And 40 minutes later, a hand grenade was found in front of a home on Snodenhoekpark.
