Women startled by naked man in Haarlem park

Two young women were chatting in Florapark in Haarlem during the early hours of Saturday morning when they were confronted by a naked man. The man suddenly appeared from behind a tree. "At first I thought it was a deer", 22-year-old Romana said to the Telegraaf. But she quickly realized it was a man who "only had shoes on".

Romana and her 23-year-old friend Evelien were chatting in the park at around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday after a night out. They were filming a video for Snapchat when the man suddenly appeared. He took a few steps towards them, but ran off when they screamed.

"Maybe he got a fright when he saw that there were two of us", Romana said to the newspaper. "Because first he came in my direction. Then you have to wonder: what were his intentions?"

The women called the police. Police officers responded in multiple cars and searched the area, but found no trace of the man. "We have not heard anything after that. But I am curious whether they will patrol more often, for example", Romana said to the newspaper. "What was he doing there? I still want to know."
