Boy, 15, assaulted and stabbed at Culemborg playground

A 15-year-old boy was assaulted and stabbed during a fight with a group of other boys at a playground in the Parijsch district of Culemborg on Saturday. A 14-year-old boy was arrested later in the evening, the police said in a statement on Sunday.

The fight started near the playground. The 15-year-old boy was kicked and beaten by a group of boys. The victim tried to get away, but his assailants followed him. The teenager was stabbed with a knife before the group of other boys ran off.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. According to the police, he did not sustain any serious injuries.

On Saturday evening, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the assault and stabbing. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow. The police are looking for witnesses.
