Man found dead on Groningen street

The body of a man was found on Oosterstraat in the city of Groningen during the early hours of Wednesday morning. The police are investigating the man's identity and cause of death, and call on witnesses to come forward.

The body was reported to the police around 3:15 a.m. The area where the man was found was closed down as a crime scene, the Groningen police said on Twitter.

"We do not yet know what happened and who it concerns. If you have information that may be of interest to us, please let us know", the police said.

The man was found near the ANWB store, according to Dagblad van het Noorden.
