"Violent incident" leaves one seriously hurt in Amsterdam

One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a "violent incident" in a home on Vlietstraat in Amsterdam on Thursday night, the police said on Twitter. The victim was found on the street.

The police responded to the scene shortly before midnight after reports of a shooting. When emergency services arrived, they found the victim on the street. Witnesses told NH Nieuws that the victim fell or was pushed from a second floor window.

The police are investigating what happened. It is not yet clear whether there was a shooting.

Witnesses also told the newspaper that a suspect was arrested, but this has not yet been confirmed by the police.
